To all of her family, my deepest sympathies.  She and Mrs. Stillman were my favorite teachers.  Mrs. Hequembourg, as I remember her, was one of the most influential teachers of my elementary school years.  She fostered a love of learning and ran and firm but fair classroom.  Many lives were enriched by her teaching.

On behalf of the Western Zone of the New York State Retired Teachers' Association (NYSRTA) sympathy and prayers are extended to the family of Rowena.  Rowena was a life member of our organization and in her nmae, a donation will be made to the Robert DeCormier Fund of NYSRTA, which assists retired educators in need.  May she rest in peace!
